A Certified B Corp is a new kind of business that’s guided by a set of socially- and environmentally-focused principles that differentiate it from familiar non-profit and traditional corporate models. Certified B Corps are formally committed to building a business that benefits all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
For sustainable businesses like Preserve, B Corp certification is a public declaration of the values and systems that underpin our business. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. B Corps are assessed on their performance every three years, with an in depth questionnaire, interviews, and follow-up audits.
The commitments to social impact and environmental stewardship ingrained in our mission directly support the corporate accountability inherent in B Corp certification. As change agents, we want to show our support for the B Corp vision by participating in this revolutionary movement. And as a company, we seek to lead along with more than 4,000 other brands across 77 countries driving systemic change.
B Lab provides full transparency of Certified B Corps’ scores, which measure a company's social and environmental performance. To qualify, a company must score more than 80 points. And almost every year, the B Lab assessment bar gets higher, pushing all B Corps to improve their social value creation. Preserve has also been voted nine years in a row to the Best for World, Environmental Impact list, which means that we have ranked in the top 5-10% of all B Corps in the environmental impact category. Preserve has been a B Corp since 2011.
